Hardkorr 4 Bar Tri-Colour LED Camp Light Kit
Hardkorr 4 Bar Tri-Colour LED Camp Light Kit
The kit that started it all — refined. Hardkorr invented the LED camp light bar back in 2008, and the 4 Bar Tri-Colour Kit is the latest evolution of that original idea. Four light bars, two tri-colour dimmers, over 24 metres of plug-and-play cabling, and a hard case to keep it all sorted between trips. It's the right size for a medium campsite, a camper trailer setup, or a family awning area where one or two bars just won't cut it.
The headline feature is the tri-colour dimmer. One push-button switch gives you cool white when you need maximum brightness, warm white for a softer mood after dark, and a 610nm amber/orange that bugs literally can't see — Hardkorr's testing shows up to a 90% reduction in flying insects around camp. Park the orange over the kitchen and the white over the table and the difference is immediate.
Each bar runs Genuine OSRAM® SMD2835 chips in a thicker 6063 aluminium housing, filled with UV-resistant epoxy resin and rated to IP68 — they'll run underwater if it ever comes to that. Inbuilt magnets stick to anything ferrous (canopy, drawbar, fridge), and the included removable pole clips handle aluminium tent poles and awning rails where magnets won't grip. Removable diffusers soften the beam so you're not getting LED dazzle from the wrong angle, and the new end caps tidy up flush-mount installs.
The whole kit packs down into a fitted case, with waterproof locking DC connectors on every cable so a wet night doesn't kill the lighting.
Why the orange light works
Most bugs see in a wavelength range of roughly 300–600nm. Hardkorr's orange LEDs sit at 610nm — right inside human vision, just outside the spectrum most insects can detect. They're not repelled; they just don't know the light's there. It's the closest thing to a magic trick you'll find in a camp setup.
